Join us on Wednesday, June 6th, as we welcome Odell Brewing Co out of Fort Collins, Colorado, to the Madison area! Odell Brewing was started by Doug and Wynne Odell in 1989 and is now the 22nd largest craft brewery in the country distributing beer to just 18 states. While the brewery crafts a variety of beers, its roots are built on British styles. Innovation and creativity meet balance, consistency and quality in each brew.
We will be tapping a few of their excellent beers and brewery reps will be on hand to talk about the beers and the brewery. Beers we will be pouring that night:
90 SHILLING ALE – Odell’s smooth and complex flagship beer. A medium-bodied amber ale with a distinct burnished copper color and a deeply pleasant aroma. The name 90 Shilling comes from the Scottish method of taxing beer.
RUPTURE – Rupture was born out of our obsession with getting the most out of each and every hop. In fact, we built a machine in our brewery to incorporate a unique fresh grind process. By grinding the whole hop we “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oils that give the beer its flavor. And what we grind that day we use that day. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with a bright hoppy character.
MYRCENARY – Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop-forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.
ZARD-ALU – Apricots shine bright, while peach and pear-like flavors mingle in the background, as Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus create the tie that binds all the components. The end result is a complex ale that is playfully sour, light, and refreshing.
So come join us in welcoming this excellent brewery to our great state!
