Longtable Beer Cafe 2nd Anniversary – Belgian Lambic Pouring
October 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Longtable Beer Cafe is celebrating it’s 2nd Anniversary, so please join us between 6pm and 8pm for a rare Lambic pouring on Wednesday the 30th. We will be offering a tasting of 4 different Lambics from the 2 premiere makers of this style in Belgium – Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen.
Each 4.5oz pour will be paired with cheese and cost for the tasting is $28. You can come in any time after 6 to try them. Tasting will be limited to the first 25 people though.
The 4 beers to be poured:
Cantillon Classic Gueuze
A perfect blend of one, two and three year old lambics. Has a slightly acidic and fruity taste, delicate and woody fragrance and a dry finish that lingers on the palate.
Whole cherries (of the Schaarbeek variety) are poured, pits and all, into casks of lambic that have aged for a year and a half. Unabashedly sour and very, very tart. This beer is not for beginners.
In October, time of the grape harvest, Italian muscat grapes are added to a few casks of two-year old lambic. After three months, the grape-flavored lambic will be blended to create a small amount of Cantillon Gueuze Vigneronne, a rare traditional style, unique to the Cantillon brewery, with a mild white wine grape aroma and flavor. A wine-lovers’ beer!
Drie Fonteinen CUVÉE Armand & Gaston
A Gueze made up of Drie Fonteinen brewed lambic from 2013, 2014 and 2015.
